Testimonials

"When Facial Eczema started to appear in March 2009, I began a spray programme with Mycotak fungicide and Mycowet surfactant.

I was particularly interested to see if, besides controlling Facial Eczema, the removal of fungal toxins would result in improved pasture quality and hence better cow condition and production.

I am happy to report it did all of this and with excellent cow condition and production holding up well, I expect to crack 150,000Kg milk solids for the first time this year on my 100 hectare farm.  Fungal control in pasture has a great future."

"We had a Rust spore count of 1,040,000 on 4 February 2009 and our grasses were being badly damaged.
We sprayed with Myco-RF + Mycowet straight away and incorporated Mycotak to also take care of Facial Eczema.

By 5 March the Rust spore count was down to 5,000 and the farm looked a picture and we avoided the big Facial Eczema problems many others were experiencing.  It’s a great combination."

"In late January part of our farm was being eaten up by Rust and was yellow.  Rust spore counts showed 1,405,000 so we sprayed with Myco-RF + Mycowet on 3rd February.  Because of the relatively small increased cost we incorporated Mycotak to cover the Facial Eczema.

By the 13th February the Rust spore count was down to 95,000 and the pasture was looking great.  We applied a second spray of Mycotak + Mycowet 6 weeks after the first and have had virtually no Facial Eczema.

The pasture sprayed with Myco-RF for Rust is producing so well that for the first time in autumn we can graze both our small and large herds on it and I have noticed we have less “pulling” on that pasture also.  We are really pleased with the results."

"In January 2009 I was pointed out the Rust in my pastures and spore counts confirmed the problem.  I wanted to stop further damage to the grasses and to get the increased production I knew was possible so I decided to spray the farms with MYCO-RF.

Although there were no high Facial Eczema counts at the time I decided to incorporate MYCOTAK and as the surfactant MYCOWET is common to both one application to cover Rust and Facial Eczema made sense.  The change in the pasture quality was dramatic but what was even better, when the FE spore counts shot up late January and early February, we were covered.

We applied a second lot of MYCOTAK and MYCOWET six weeks later and had no Facial Eczema on any of the farms while others unfortunately had lots.

When the vets tell you in early winter you have the best conditioned cows in the district you know you must be doing something right.

Getting rid of Rust with MYCO-RF and preventing Facial Eczema with MYCOTAK is more than paying for itself and one real benefit for me is I no longer need to worry about fungal problems.  I would be happy to talk to any farmer about my experiences."

"I went to one of Coast Biologicals’ seminars on Fungal diseases in pasture.  It was obvious how much payback there was for eliminating Rust, Fusarium and Facial Eczema in pasture.

I took advantage of their spore counting service and when the Rust spores got around 100,000 as early as 20 January 2009 I decided to deal to it before the Rust could further damage my grasses.  As it made good economic sense I also incorporated Mycotak to cover myself against Facial Eczema.

In acting early I avoided the Facial Eczema problem others have had.  In controlling the Rust I appear to have gotten the dry matter increases claimed and late April still do not need to feed supplements while maintaining 1.5Kg milk solids.

I am very pleased with the results and expect to see improved pasture quality in the Spring as I have much healthier grasses."

"After seeing a Rust Spore count of 685,000 on 30th January 2009 we sprayed with Myco-RF plus Mycowet and because it’s a “No Brainer” we included Mycotak to take care of Facial Eczema.  Thanks goodness we did.

On 20th March our Rust , Fusarium and Facial Eczema spore counts were all “Nil”.  We are delighted with the results and have learned to act quickly once the conditions are right for rapid fungal growth.

One of the great things is if you spray early you eliminate the worry.  If farmers want to contact me they can do so on 07-873 2828."
